Hontek was founded in 1992 to conduct Small Business Innovation Research contracts for the United States Army, Navy and Air Force, and has maintained self-funded R&D to develop erosion resistant and abrasion resistant coatings for aerospace, wind energy and industrial applications. It develops and manufactures polyurethane coatings for rain, sand, particle and cavitation erosion protection.
