Film Sense designs and manufactures compact, affordable multi-wavelength ellipsometer systems for thin film metrology. Their instruments use long-life LEDs and a no-moving-parts ellipsometric detector to measure film thickness of transparent thin films from 0 to 5000 nm in about one second, as well as optical constants n and k. Applications include research labs, classrooms, in situ process control, and industrial quality control, including ALD and ALE process characterization. The company was founded in 2013 by Blaine Johs.
