Big Dipper Beef is a beef direct business run by Ashley, who works for her family's cow-calf operation in rural Nevada. Cattle are raised locally in Western Nevada and Eastern California on rangeland and pastures, grazing public lands including the Pinenut Mountain Range and Sweetwater Mountain Range. Calves are purchased from the family operation at the yearling stage and finished on pasture with grain added to the diet for marbling and flavor.
