Tom Kane, Ph.D., working as Kane OE, is an independent optical engineer. He carries out self-funded development of lasers optimized for eye-safe LIDAR using semiconductor-pumped Nd:YVO4/V:YAG and Nd:YAG/V:YAG laser systems, provides custom-designed NPROs for commercial and government customers, designs and delivers custom optical systems for R&D and early product development, and has a lab capable of fully characterizing moderate power pulsed and cw lasers.
