Community Roots Housing develops and manages affordable homes for residents across the Seattle area and White Center. Founded in 1976 by Capitol Hill community activists concerned about redlining and disinvestment, it is a citywide Public Development Authority and the Community Development Corporation for Capitol Hill. It owns and maintains nearly 50 apartment buildings and provides safe, affordable apartments to over 2,000 residents.
