The Infant-Parent Institute was founded in 1986 by Michael Trout as a private clinical practice, consultation and training facility focused on the relationship between early social experiences and development. Its Consulting Division, created in 1992, provides technical assistance, program monitoring, compliance monitoring, quality improvement, and program evaluation for behavioral and human services organizations, specializing in behavioral health, Medicaid, and system of care. The clinical practice closed at the end of 2014.
