Hoffman Engineering was founded in 1955 by J. Gordon Hoffman to support the photometric needs of aircraft panel and instrument manufacturers. The company designs and manufactures lighting and test equipment for aerospace, ground vehicle, and shipboard applications, including LED lighting, night vision test equipment, and power management systems. It operates a NIST traceable primary standards laboratory for testing, calibration, and validation of lighted instruments and measurement equipment, and is ISO-9001:2008 accredited.
