High Energy Metals, Inc. (HEMI) utilizes explosive welding to join a wide variety of dissimilar metals with a metallurgical bond, either directly or using interlayers. Because explosive welding is a cold-weld process, the metals bond without losing their desired properties. HEMI has 12,000 ft² of shop space including a precision machine shop, supplying finished bimetal products in addition to high-reliability explosion bonded materials.
