Hemlock Semiconductor (HSC) is a chemical processing facility in Hemlock, Michigan, and a leading global provider of hyper-pure polysilicon, the only polysilicon manufacturer headquartered in the United States. Founded in 1961, HSC supplies polysilicon used to make computer chips and semiconductor wafers, and supplies the solar power industry with low-carbon polysilicon for solar panels. HSC is owned by Corning Inc. and Shin-Etsu Handotai and employs more than 1,500 employees and contractors.
