California Catalysts, formerly H2U Technologies, is a developer of advanced materials for electrolysis. The company was founded to commercialize DOE grants to Caltech and other research institutions that made up the JCAP program, and exclusively licensed the high-throughput catalyst discovery engine (CDE) from Caltech. It brings non-iridium OER catalysts and PTL coatings to market under its own brand, using AI alongside proprietary physical testing to discover and test low-cost electrocatalysts.
