Emergency Care Specialists, PC is a physician-owned and governed private practice specializing in all aspects of acute care medicine. Established in 1984 at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan, ECS retains over 200 physicians (about 150 equal physician owners) and 90 Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners who staff 12 emergency departments across 2 health systems, caring for over 450,000 patients annually. ECS has staffed the Corewell Health – Grand Rapids/Michigan State University Emergency Medicine Residency since 1984.
