DMI develops computational solutions for natural hazard assessment and geophysical exploration, including probabilistic volcanic hazard assessments, geophysical inversion codes, and spatial density models. Staff have conducted hazard assessments for nuclear facilities including the Idaho National Laboratory, the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant, Yucca Mountain, and sites in Japan for NUMO, and assisted the International Atomic Energy Agency in developing volcanic hazard guidelines.
