Davenport SAF-T Systems is a company founded in 2017 as a limited liability corporation that developed the SAF-T VEST, a patented wearable fall protection system. Designed by co-founder and orthopedic surgeon Jay A. Davenport, M.D., the vest uses sensors to detect a fall in progress and inflates airbags in less than a half-second to absorb impact, then deflates to reduce rebound. The company received U.S. Patent No. 10,897,938 B2 in 2021 and has developed prototypes with University of St. Thomas and Kablooe Design.
