Class 5 Photonics builds ultrafast, high-power laser systems based on optical parametric chirped pulse amplification (OPCPA) and advanced nonlinear optical technologies such as high-harmonic generation (HHG). Founded in 2014 as a spin-off of the German particle accelerator facility DESY in Hamburg, the company is based at the DESY campus and has won several awards for its laser performance.
