CarboShield provides patented carbon-fiber shells for permanent bridge and marine pile repair, installed entirely above water without the need for divers. The shells are made from high-strength, non-corrosive carbon fiber (400 KSI tensile, one-fifth the weight of steel) and are bonded around piles with epoxy and filled with grout. The company cites 40 years of R&D and third-party tests showing treated piles 35x stronger than unretrofitted piles.
