EVelution Energy is developing the first solar-powered, carbon-neutral commercial-scale cobalt metal and cobalt sulfate processing facility in the United States, located in Yuma County, Arizona. The facility is designed to handle approximately 24,000 metric tons of cobalt hydroxide feedstock annually and is expected to meet up to 40% of projected U.S. cobalt demand.
