j-fiber GmbH, based in Jena, Germany, is a specialist in optical fibers, particularly multimode fibers for use in modern data centers. Fiber production at the Jena site builds on a tradition of over 40 years, with preform and optical fiber development beginning in the Jenaer Glaswerk; in 1994 these activities became an independent company. The company develops and produces synthetic quartz glass, preforms and specialty fibers to customer-specific requirements and is a member of the Hengtong Group.
