Ascender Systems, Incorporated has patented a climbing robot that can scale utility/light/flag poles, pipes, and columns of varying shapes from 3 inches to 22 inches. The prototype climber ascends to a desired height and installs a leave-behind equipped with comms gear, lighting, security cameras, satellite uplink, and/or solar panels, all reconfigurable by customers. The company is certified as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) by the SBA's VetCert program.
