Brant & Cochran makes heirloom quality, Maine wedge pattern axes by hand in its South Portland, Maine shop, educates people on proper axe use and care, and curates the history of axe making in Maine. Founded in 2015, it sold its first Maine wedge pattern axe, The Allagash Cruiser, in 2018, followed by the Dirigo Belt Axe in 2019 and the Forester's Friend in 2021. It also restores vintage axes.
