Anya Groner is an award-winning writer, journalist, and teacher whose writing explores the changing environment's impact on community and equity in the US South. Her journalism and essays have appeared in The Guardian, The New York Times, The Oxford American, Orion Magazine, and The Atlantic, and her fiction in literary journals such as Meridian, Carolina Quarterly, and Ninth Letter. She lives in Richmond, Virginia and works as a teacher and freelance journalist.
