Alaskan Copper Works was founded in 1913 as a marine copper-smithing company. In 1932 the company established the Alaskan Copper & Brass Company, a division devoted to distribution of corrosion-resistant alloys. Today Alaskan Copper is a metal service center and manufacturer of corrosion-resistant alloy products, with warehouses in Kent, Washington; Portland, Oregon; Vancouver, Canada; and San Diego.
